The OBTA Spirit Challenge was established in 2021 by former OBTA Athletes' Rep Shawna Spencer. The Spirit Challenge is a unique award that injects a sense of fun into the otherwise serious competition days. It aims to bring athletes together from different clubs, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity. Athletes are encouraged to meet and interact with twirlers from across the province, creating connections and bonds that extend beyond the competition. Through this challenge, athletes have the opportunity build friendships and support networks within the twirling community, outside of their home club. The spirit challenge is a refreshing break from the intense nature of competitions, allowing athletes to enjoy the experience and celebrate the joy of twirling.
